02 Jun What is a blog?
A blog (taken from the original term of web log) is a discussion or informational website, or webpage, consisting of posts (i.e. written entries), to provide commentary on a particular subject.
Blog is just a word. Companies use the idea and rename it to try to gain more authority. You may have seen it as ‘Articles’, ‘News’, ‘Case Studies’ and various others. But essentially they are all the same.
When most people think of a blog, they see it as an online diary or journal, logging observations or experiences. Something often used by ‘Mummy Bloggers’ and not a business.
Though they would be wrong.
When used for your business, blogs can boost your online footprint, gain the trust of potential clients, and make you a leader in your industry.
Blogs are interactive, creating a place for readers to leave comments, start a discussion, and share the content to their connections. They can be pure text or can involve several mediums such as images, quotes, video, music, audio, or a combination of all of these.
Using a blog to educate your customers, and to empower them with the tools and knowledge to improve their own businesses, will encourage loyalty and brand recognition. It is just one of the FREE forms of advertising in our online world and can be a major part of creating a social and engaging business marketing strategy.
By increasing the content on your website through blogs, you will increase your online presence, hence improving your search engine rankings and potential customer reach.
So what are you waiting for?
